Bread Pizza with a Veggie Salsa

Have left over bread at home?? Thinking what to do??? So was I doing!!! But now I don’t need to…. Bcoz I have many options…. I use them in chapathis, make rolls, Sandwiches, and now Pizzas…. Yeh U heard it ryt Bread Pizza

My last post was regarding bread so I thought it wud be great to post something related to it, here is the recipe.
We Need:
Bread Slices – 6-7
Pizza sauce – ½ cup
Vegetable (corn kernels, mushrooms, tomato, capsicum – all three colors, onion
Mozzarella Cheese Grated- 1 cup
Italian seasoning (rosemary, basil, thyme, oregano) – to sprinkle on top
Salt to taste

For the Pizza Sauce:
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 6 glasses(small) warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon galic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black peppe
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine tomato paste, water, Parmesan cheese,garlic, honey, onion powder, oregano, basil, ground black pepper, garlic powder,red pepper flakes and salt; mix together, breaking up any clumpsof cheese.
  2. Sauce should sit for 30 minutes to blend flavors.........
Now for the Pizza:
Cut all the veggies into small dices and saute them (no need to add oil).
Place bread slices on a baking tray. Apply pizza sauce on all the slices. Spread all the vegetables.
Sprinkle salt on every slice (make sure u don’t add much salt).
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese & Italian seasoning on top of each slice.
Bake it for 5 minutes or until cheese melts @ 350*F

Yumilicious Bread Pizza is ready to serve.

Onion Bread

Heyaa!!!! I am sure all r in pink of health. Its gona be all about baking & baking in my blog for few weeks. Those biscuits or may be bread….etc …..Etc. It’s been long time I have shared ne bread recipe with you guys…. Common today is the ryt time…. I’ll share it with ya all.

When matter comes about time I remember Amma a lot and thtz bcoz wheneva she tells me to do some work I have a answer ready “Amma magiri karta” (Mom I’l do it later). Yeh I was a lazy daughter (not always I must say :P) …………………. Whateva it may be I used to do those work but ‘Not In Time’. :P

Now I feel very bad for it…. But m sure most of them r very lazy b4 their marriage bcoz they Neva have ne responsibilities or something like tht???? Isn’t it??? Anyways I’ll keep pulling on my story later…. So how about the bread talks now????

Every time we visited a supermarket (In SA), my hub used to luk at the pack of onion flake as if he is gona grab them from there…..But then it was “donno how it wud taste next time” …but then came a auspicious day :D to buy those flakes….. I must say they ver really tasty (it was just like fried onions)…. I used them in soups..Gravys….etc… etc Then I decided to add them in breads how about A Onion bread (we love onions…. A onion story some other time :D). I tried it my own way…. I must say it ot only was fluffly it was Yummy too…

I wud like to share the recipe with u guys so that u guys can try it out and tell me how it came out….. J

We need:


Wheat flour(Atta) - 2 cups ,Luke warm water - 1 cup ,Salt - 1 tsp ,Olive oil - 2 tbsp,1 tbsp active Yeast, Onion flakes - 7-8 tbsp, Sugar - 1 tsp.

Method:

Place yeast, sugar and milk in a bowl and mix to combine. set aside in a warm place for 5 minutes or until bubbles begin to form on surface.

Mis together the flour, salt, oil and yeast mixture,onion flakes in a bowl and mix until a smooth dough forms. knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic, adding a little extra flour to the dough if it becomes too sticky.

Roll it into a round shape and allow to rest for n hour or more.

Now knead the dough again nd mix well nd rest it for another hour. ( roll the dough into the shape u want to bake rectangular or round)

Preheat oven at 350F

So if u see onion flakes ne where do not stare Just buy them :D.

Don worry if u don’t get onion flakes then u can fry then until golden brown and ad them up too

Weekend Blast!!!!!

Hey foodies!!!!
U guys enjoying weekend…. M envying u all…… I m done with my weekend….Ne ways my weekend was toooooooooooooo gud y so many “o”s don’t worry I’ll tell u y….. We had a Burger Party at home where I prepared burgers nd Lemon Mint cooler…..nd all enjoyed the burger to the last bite nd cooler till the last sip…... They praised me so much…. I was on cloud 9…. All roadie freaks went to Gelato…….yum it was just melting down our mouth….. I just relished it like I never had something like tht before. Now don’t ask me whts the difference between Gelato nd Ice Cream….This cud tell u more than me. U can find gelato recipe here. Ok now after all this the real part of my weekend which made me start searching if there was cloud 10 :P. I got a beautiful surprise from my sweet hubby…. B4 u ask me wht lemme tell u I got 2 wonderful jewellery sets :P…..

Lemon Mint cooler

I assure u this cooler not only is gives u a refreshed feeling but also your tongue keeps luking for the last bit of it. He he he I think i'll come down to the cooler recipe
We need :
Lemon – 3
Mint – ½ cup
Sugar – 3 tbsp
Honey – 3tbsp
Salt a pinch

Method:
Grind mint leaves.
Dissolve sugar in 4 glasses of water.
And add the ground mint, lemon juice, honey, a pinch of salt and mix well. U can add crushed ice cubes ( I used cold water instead of normal water I skipped crushed ice).

♥ Focคcciค....ค first bคked breคd ♥ Nd M being Honest ♥

Ah! We never ate lozza bread during our childhood. It was always tht we ate bread only when we were not keeping well :P…but as we grew we started getting bread at home…Eggless- Harish Bakery bread (this one as it was one of the Amchi’s bakery nd one of our known ppl). As time pasd we started lovin the City Bakery Bread it was so soft nd moist….

Amma started making sandwiches (2-3 varities )…Anu doesn’t eat though(bcoz he never ate onions nor garlic). I loved the fried onion sandwich vch amma made….I remember the day we bought tht sandwich toaster….:P

We had been to Market in blore(10 yrs bac) tht….my aunt was just married nd new to tht place…she just took one jamun(jambul in konkani …the purple colour berry vch we get during april may) from the batti for taste so tht she cud buy the Bai (lady) there started shouting… Enamma hange tinnodu 50 ps kodi…. (how can u eat like tht now gimme 50 ps for one jamun) we were shocked actually as at tht time 50 ps for one jamun was so costly….:P…..guys u myt be wondering na from bread I went to market, jamun all those things….I m just like tht….:P I started the matter bcoz we bought tht toaster the same day….:P

I remember when once someone ( I don’t want to specify but I m sure if he reads this he will kno who m I spking about :P m sure after reading this he wud never take bread to someones house He he he :P) had visited our place and got 2 loafs of simple bread…As soon as he left all started telling is someone sick at our home tht he got bread…it was ok even if he never got ne thing…:P…..Nd thts bcoz we take bread to someone’s place or hospitals only if someone is sick isn’t it? ( I think m dragging this post too sick :P )…I donno each persons custom myt differ…..:P

Then on amma started making fried onion sandwiches which we just loved…it was so yum… I used to sit on my kitchen slab and relish them hot hot as she prepares.

Now to the bread story…….i ate bakery bread everytime….never tried home made bread but wanted to try it once….. when I started getting my hands on baking i decided of baking bread…. Nd tried my hand on wheat bread. It was in my drafts from more than 4 months :P

It got baked nd I nevr had a piece of it also bcoz I wanted my hubby to taste it first (as he is the guinea pig :P)

He ate the piece nd told Aps do u know ht u have baked???? I was worried then comes a answer its focaccia..Italian bread…..its so tasty….:P… …when I checked the pecipe it was similar…but they added cheese Parmesan nd mozzarella…vch I did not.

He he he I never knew the name though

Ne ways I stop my chatting patting here nd move on to my recipe



We need

Wheat flour – 2 cups

Finely powdered oats- ½ cup

Salt – 1 tsp

Milk – 4tbsp

Italian seasoning (basil,oregano,Rosemary,thyme) – 2tbsp

Garlic powder – 1 tsp

Water (luke warm) – 1 cup

Active Dry yeast – 1 tbsp

Black pepper – 1 tsp (crushed)

Butter/olive oil – 2 tbsp

Sugar – 1tsp

Seasme seeds - 1/2 tsp





Method:

Remove from Oven and place on a wire rack.

Once cooled down cut slices.



I mixed it in a food processer as I dint want my hands to stick :P

Now a soft nd tasty bead is ready to Eat.

7. I m a very straight forward person.... I kno its a plus as well as minus point....( i hate back stabbers).

8. I started cooking during my school days thts y i had'n to bang my head in kitchen after marraige :P.

9. I m mad about cook books/blogs, crafts,embroidery,nd ne thing nd everything artistic.... thats y i started a cook blog...nd m sure i will upload some artistic things in my blog soon.....these days m a bit crazy about cam's also...nd m learning to take good clicks from my hubby...He is clicks awesome snaps( i m sure he can start some part time job :P).

10. Laughter is the best medicine....this line will always suit me bcoz i laugh for small things....nd in college we(nandu nd me) ver known as laughing gals.......nd m sure if there was ne laughter award there we wud surely grab it.....:P

I kno i got u guys bored vth this but u guys had to bear me :P.

Bitter Can Taste Better or can say best?????

How r all u guys???? Weekend is nearing……..So I thought get out of diet tht day??? How about something fried? Something bitter? r’nt u tired of sweet always or the same taste………I m so thought I’ll makw something better or best out of bitter…….Have u ever had drumstick leaves ambado (fritters)…..no then do try it it tastes yum nd ul never feel the bitter taste……….Amma used to make them at home(mamama used to get the leaves for us) and I used to cherish them sitting like a queen with a plate of ambado….huh I remember the time when Sud..nd I used to fight for the ambado’s telling takka/tikka kasane chada dilla nd all(y is he/she given lil more). I miss tht bro!! L but after all tht its life….we gona go far…..

Today I m gonna post ambado nd karathe phodi(karela/bittergourd) :

Mashinga palle Ambado :

Mashinga Pallo/ Drumstick leaves – 2 cups (coarsely cut with hands)

Rice-1 cup (soaked for 4 hrs or so)

Red chillies – 12-15

Salt to taste

Method: Grind rice,chillies, into a very fine and semi-thick paste.

Now in a bowl mix the leaves, salt, and the paste.

Heat oil….now make small balls nd flatten them deep fry in oil and Relish.

Karathe Phodi:

Karathe/Bitter Gourd -2 Rice - ½ cup Red chillies – 9 Salt to tasteHing a pinch

Cut roundels of karathe and apply salt and leave for n hr.(this removes the bitter taste of karathe thts wht amma used to tell me).Grind RC, Rice and hing into a thick paste(avoid adding lozza water).Now squeeze the water from karathe and apply the paste and rest for ½ n hr….Then deep fry them until crispy.

Healthy and Crunchy Channa

Who doesn like to munch on something crunchy…. Nd especially on a rainy day…When its raining heavily u r with something crunchy in ur hands something spicy …. Its just Yummmmmm … Is’nt it???
So here is something interesting and healthy for u…. A quick snack made at home….loved by all!!! And yeh not to forget always relishable.
Yeh m sure U remember ur old kiddo days..... when u enjoyed such snacks... and ver pampered by ur mom... I ate all such stuffs to the core during those kiddo days... (nd lotssa memories to share but some other time :D ) but now its reduced to some extent donno the reason though :P and Just like these crisp channa I even love fried green peas and m sure i will come with tht recipe soon  J J J

 We need:
Ø  1 cup Garbanzo beans / Kabul channa (Soak 6-7 or overnight).
Ø  1 tbsp Oil
Ø  Garlic powder – as per ur taste( I love garlic flavor a lot so I added tht more)
Ø  Red chili powder - As per taste
Ø  Chaat masala as per taste
Ø  Salt - As per taste
Method:
*       Drain soaked chickpeas.
*       Pressure cook the chickpeas  for about 15 minutes or  until 4 whistles on sim till the peas r done (they must not be overcooked). Make sure the skins are not out as it has chances of bursting in the oil.
*       Drain them again and pat out excess water by  clean kitchen towel.
*       Preheat oven to 180 deg cel for 10 minutes
*       In a bowl add boiled chickpeas and mix it with salt,1/2 tbsp oil , garlic powder, chaat masala, chili powder and allow it to rest for ½ n hr.
*       In a baking pan pour 1/2 tbsp. oil
*       Now Arrange the peas  on the pan making sure no beans are on top of the other.
*       Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes at 200 deg. Cel.
*       Remove and let cool completely..
*       Now enjoy ur crunchy snack.
